Port Henry is approximately 5 hours from New York City, and two hours from Montreal via the Adirondack Northway, I-87. Vermont is just 10 minutes away over the Champlain bridge.Amtrak passenger service links the town to New York City, Montreal, and Washington D.C. The "Adirondack" is considered one of America's most scenic train trips. Also, Amtrak now welcomes bicyclists making travel by train and trail easy. Port Henry's rail station is within walking distance of the municipal campgrounds and downtown.
Port Henry is New York's first port north of Whitehall (approximately 40 miles) where travelers can obtain fuel, pump-outs and provisions. Moorings/slips are available at two marinas, the campgrounds and the public pier.
